The largest single user side energy storage project in China has successfully achieved "full discharge" operation

Recently, the reporter learned from State Grid Chongqing Electric Power Company that as the largest single user side energy storage project in China, the Chongqing Bishan Comprehensive Smart Zero Carbon Power Plant BYD Light Storage Project has successfully achieved full capacity "full discharge" operation.

It is reported that the project includes three parts: rooftop photovoltaic power generation, electrochemical energy storage, and production line energy recovery. It is currently the largest single user side energy storage project in China. This project utilizes the idle space on the roof of the enterprise factory building to build photovoltaic panels to absorb solar energy and convert it into production electricity in a timely manner. At the same time, the surplus electricity generated by photovoltaics and the electricity generated by the power grid during nighttime valley hours can charge the energy storage station, just like a large "power bank" that provides power to enterprises during peak daytime electricity consumption hours, which not only reduces the cost of electricity consumption for enterprises, but also alleviates the pressure on the power grid during summer.

The rooftop photovoltaic installation area of this project is about 100000 square meters, with 17616 photovoltaic panels installed. The DC side installed capacity is 10.1292 megawatts, and the electrochemical energy storage power station has a capacity of 60 megawatts/240 megawatt hours, including 70 energy storage battery units and 18 step-up current integrated units (PCS).

Chen Yongbo, assistant to the general manager of State Grid Chongqing Bishan Power Supply Company, introduced that after the project is put into operation, it can adjust peak electricity by about 7 million kilowatt hours per year, providing the Chongqing power grid with a maximum peak capacity of 67 megawatts, effectively alleviating the pressure on power supply during peak season and summer.
