Energy Storage AGC Auxiliary Frequency Modulation Project of Guangzhou Huadian Shaoguan Thermal Power Company

Scale10MW/10MWh

LocationShaoguan, Guangdong

TimeMarch 2021

OverviewThis project is the first advanced cascade+1C power side energy storage project in China. A 10MW grid level energy storage system based on lithium-ion batteries will be built on the # 1 and # 2 generator sets of Xiongzhou Power Plant. The energy storage system adopts a "one driven two" method, which is used for joint units to participate in grid AGC frequency regulation. The energy storage system can significantly improve the regulation performance of thermal power units by assisting them in frequency regulation, which is of great significance for building a strong power grid and improving the current situation of thermal power plants.
